I'm looking after my friend's hermit crabs while she's on vacation. I've been following her instructions but when I went to check on them this morning I found maggots crawling all over the shrimp I had put in the night before. I immediately removed the shrimp, but there are still little white dots scattered around the tank. Are the crabs in danger? When she brought them over one of the crabs was molting. As of right now, the 2nd is wandering around and I think the 3rd one dug under the substrate last night. I haven seen him for a few hours and I don't know if he's ok. I want to check on him, but I don't want to stress the molting crab.
Please help me, I really don't want to kill my friend's pets.
