Perhaps the title is a tad dramatic but I'm pretty sad and bummer right now. My precious cat who I lovingly call bebe and I are usually on the greatest of terms. I will readily admit I spoil her and will pick her up and carry her around the house.
Recently (as in yesterday) my parents brought home a new kitten. I was not made aware of this. I was just at home ad voila brand new kitten.
Bad news - kitten was covered in fleas and ear mites. Of course we went and got all the standard stuff to get rid of fleas and ear mites. Ear drops, shampoo, flea comb, flea collar etc... even his own little bowl for his food.
Stuff that made me mad news -kitten peed in my bed as I was playing with him this morning. What a little ingrate. Jk. Mostly. Don't judge me I'm allowed to be a little salty at having to clean that up.
Sad news -anyways we were keeping them separate because the kitten was like 99% rid of fleas due to the baths, combing, and treatment we gave him yesterday but a little extra time to make sure that everything was A-okay never hurt anyone.
We introduced them to the extent of me holding the little kitten and my brother holding bebe close and cautiously seeing if there were any problems. There wasnt any growling or anything. They just stared at each other. Mango, the kitten, seemed to want to get closer but we didnt let him.
A few minutes ago my cat, who likes to go outside, started hissing and growling at the kitten. I was bummed that it looked like they weren't going to be getting along but then she started hissing and growling AT ME. I was shook. I tried to pet her but she kept growling. I took her to my room and she kept hissing. She even swiped at me. Even more shooketh.
I cleaned up the smell. I spent a good amount of time making sure that that spot was clean. I put and cleaned it with dish soap, baking soda, hydrogen peroxide, and some pet odor remover as well as more baking soda later to neutralize the scent. What is the problem? Is she reacting to another cats scent? Is she jealous? How long can I expect the silent treatment to go on? ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜
