We adopted a new kitten who is about 3 months old. We love him, he's very playful and energetic and gets along well with our two other cats. However we're having one issue - he keeps waking us up in the middle of the night seemingly for no other reason than to receive love and attention.
It'll all start at around 3 AM. I'll be sound asleep when all of the sudden - BOOP. The kitten will be on my chest rubbing his head into my face purring as loud as possible. He will then proceed to kneed me, continue booping me, licking my face, etc. He doesn't seem to be hungry or in any discomfort - he literally seems to just want attention. I usually don't give in but even if I ignore him he literally will not stop licking me - it makes me itchy! I'm not sure how we can discourage this from happening - we love giving him love and attention - but we also love sleep!
