We got a kitten 2 weeks ago... split them up, separate rooms, slowly integrated. Everything went fine. First few days hissing.
We have started letting them be together in the house and they do fine until they start chasing each other.
My kitten, since we got her, does this little low growl?.. more like a "mmmmm" sound when she's tired. She does it when we pick her up sometimes around bed-time.
She also does it when the older cat and her are playing. My question is are they playing or fighting? She chases the older cat all the time and he chases her back. Eventually it devolves into the resident cat pinning her to the ground and her crying. But then when its over she gets back up and tries to chase him again.
I cannot tell if they're fighting or not. The older cat doesn't make any noises other than meowing for her attention when she runs away and a little chatter? noise when he's walking around her. Like a halfpurr/halfmeow.
I usually split them up after he pins her and she cries. Should I let it continue? She's half his size. I don't want her to get hurt. It's like they're playing and running around and then suddenly she's crying and pinned on the ground... with the resident cat's tail swinging around.
Thanks!
