I'm traveling abroad next month for two and half weeks and my parents are planning to look after the cat while I'm away. This will be the first time that I've take the cat on a long car ride (4 hours) and will be the first time that my cat will be staying some where else that is not my apartment. My cat is pretty shy but seemed to warm up to my parents when they visited in the past. A few questions and concerns would be:
- My vehicle does not have air conditioning (fans work but no AC), and usually on these drives I leave the front windows down in the summer. If I were to drive on the highway would the cat be okay with the windows partially rolled down or would it be too loud?
- I plan to drive during the later part of the evening so the temperature for my drive will be around 75-81 degrees. These temperatures shouldn't be an issue correct? Should I give him a cold towel to snuggle with?
- When driving with the cat, I usually put him on the floor of the passenger seat, if I plan to crack those windows would it be better if I position in the rear seats instead?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated
Edit: For context my cat is about 1 year and 5 months old so he's pretty young.
