So I don’t own a cat, but today, I saw a cat in the neighborhood and wanted to pet it. I’ve pet cats before, but only two times. I was unsure about petting the cat, I called it over, but it didn’t come close. When I came close though, it didn’t run away, and did flop over. I tried to get my hand near and pet it, but it turned its head and I got scared. It did get up once, I know a bit about tails and it’s meaning and it was up, but only in the middle. Would it have been fine if I pet the cat? Would I have gotten scratched or anything if I did?
