Adopted a stray lovebird (if that's a thing) need advice.

Hello reddit,

My girlfriend came home with a lovebird which flew right next to where she was sitting on during a smoke break. Which is weird because we live and work in a very populated city. Anyways I'm worried for the bird because we wont be able to buy her a cage and all the other accessories until Saturday (3 days from now). So right now she stays on a big cardboard box i punched holes into using a Philips screw driver. Will she/he be okay living in that box for three days?

I feed it apples and lettuce and we left her with a saucer full of water.

I hope she/he's okay.
