So I came home from work today to an anonymous letter in my mailbox saying a neighbor is fed up with my dog barking outside and will call the police if it continues. She listed two dates where she said my dog barked continuously for an hour or more. The thing is, during the week my dog is only outside when I get home from work for 30 minutes. Then we go for a walk and he stays in after that. During the weekend, he's never outside for a continuous hour. He always comes in and out. The only time he barks is when someone walks by for maybe 5 minutes, tops. Not continuously like the letter says. And I do go out and shush him when I hear him.
I'm pretty sure the letter is from the retired lady across the street that seems to hate all the neighbors. I know she is exaggerating in the letter, but will the police believe her? Does she need more proof than writing down days she says she heard the dog bark? How can I protect myself from her?
I was thinking about getting a security camera with audio for my yard so I have proof, but can't seem to find one with continuous video and audio. Any suggestions? I don't think a motion/sound sensor one would be enough proof.
Anyone have a similar situation? How did it get resolved? Thanks for any help!
