Cat behaving weirdly at home (growling and hissing)

Hello, so huh... I have two cats, both 2 years old. The male is generally living outside, and the female is more of an indoorsy. She generally goes out all day but come back in the evening, asking for cuddles and all that. She also has the habit of growling and hissing for a while now, but because she wasn't hurt or anything we thought she just had a bad temper (I read that it can happen!).

Lately, maybe because it's summer, she doesn't come back as much. But we also noticed that when she does come home, she doesn't like to cuddle as much as she used to. If she can't go out, she generally spends her time hissing and growling - way more than usual. Petting her makes her growl. If we don't let her go, she may fall asleep in my bed, but it's like she doesn't feel very comfortable at home anymore. She doesn't come back if we don't go look for her in the neighborhood (and she doesn't act in that stranger way when we look for her outside).

We thought that it may have something to do with the house, and the fact that one of the neighborhood cat seems have our garden as his territory... But other than that, we're clueless, and I'm very sad.

I thought about going to the vet or at least calling, but they're in vacation. Did that happen to own of your cat? Is it only temporary? Do you think I can do something about it to calm her down when she's at home?
