Cat spazzed out and is breathing rapidly

Hi,

Just experienced an instance where my cat spazzed out (ran around my room and literally climbed up the door frame), started breathing rather rapidly, his eyes were extremely dilated despite all the lights being on, and seemed not to recognize me. I herded him into our en suite bathroom and his ears were back, very untrusting. I soothed him down and he seems to be fairly back to normal.

I literally have his carrier ready to go to take him to the 24 hour emergency vet, but I did a cursory google search and found hyperesthesia in cats.

Per my previous post, we have moved my two cats to my boyfriends house and are integrating him with a dog that has a fairly aggressive bark though she has NEVER gone after them aggressively. Obviously there are several stressors going on, including the move and a dog which he has never seen before. For owners that have had cats with hyperesthesia, does this sound similar? I don’t want to stress him further with the cat carrier and vet preemptively.

Just to note, he does have all his vaccinations up to date and has been on flea/tick and heart medicine per the vets instructions before integrating the pets for about 2 months now.

Thank you for any advice!

Sincerely, A concerned owner
