Around the beginning of the year our kitty started leaving small turds all over the house. He didn't seem to have any issues with the litter box otherwise, still doesn't. At first we suspected his butt floof was catching the poop and he was just leaving dingleberries everywhere. Even after the vet trimmed his floof (he is a medium hair cat) we still saw issues. So then we transitioned to a new food. Now a week in on fully the new food, we're still having issues.
I started wondering if he was constipated but his poop in the litter box seems normal. It is a lighter color than the turds that he's leaving around the house. His original vet doesn't seem to be ultra concerned about it which is frustrating because he didn't used to do this for the first two years we had him. I can't think of any stressors that might be making him anxious either. Even still, he's on prozac already for feline general anxiety and separation anxiety so I doubt he's having anxiety problems.
Husband is at wits end and I'm starting to get frustrated myself. Planning on going to a second vet for another opinion. But curious if anyone else has had this problem before and if you found any solutions.
