My 15 year old Shepard mix is driving me to drink. For the last 10 years, she has been getting into the kitchen trash. We tried buying different cans, even “dog proof” ones. She got into them all. Then we had someone come in and put the can inside a cabinet. Then she figured out how to open the cabinet, so we added a baby lock. Which she figured out how to beat. Then we added a second baby lock (a different kind.) Which she beat. Then we started putting the heavy dog food container in front of the cabinet. So, it has two baby locks and a plastic container with 50lbs of dog food in it. And I just came home to a-freaking-gain find the garbage strewn all over the floor. I can’t lock her out of the kitchen, because the dog door to the backyard is in there. So, what do I do, Reddit? How do I keep from coming home to a stinky, garbage strewn kitchen? Can I just not have garbage in my house, ever?
