My cat is 3 years old and I’ve had her since she was the tiniest kitten. Anyways, recently she started scratching the underside of my mattress where the frame has gaps, and this morning I awoke to her scratching the side of my mattress. Now, I have a purple mattress, so i don’t have a box spring that she’s clawing, it’s my actual mattress. I can’t really put a fitted sheet over as obviously there is one in place already that’s for us to sleep on. I could maybe put one underneath too, but I don’t want her scratching at the bed at all.
She’s definitely getting a nail trimming today, and I’m going to go get a scratching post as well. But my fear is that since she’s been doing it in multiple places on the bed, this won’t stop her.
She usually sleeps with me at night, and i would really hate to ban her from my bedroom, but i just got this bed a year ago and I’d like it kitty scratch free. Any suggestions of advice will be greatly appreciated.
