Hello Reddit, this question must have been asked about a million times now but here I am. My situation probably isn't as bad as other's as I currently have no pets. Four of my neighbor's cats would often come to my house because my sister fed them and she has since moved away so cats stopped coming. Still, the gift of fleas has been left to me and I've enjoyed it for.....well, close to three months now. At this point I think they are impossible to kill off. My methods of killing them have kept getting more rigorous as the time progressed. I tried bowl of water, soap and lamp, I've tried usual petshop remedies both inside and outside, I've washed everything that could be washed at least 10 times now. I'm currently spraying my house and outside with an insecticide whose base component is malathion. I've been vacuuming my house daily, maybe even twice a day (And yes, emptying the bag as well after each time). This has somewhat reduced their number, but hasn't killed them yet. Trust me when I say, I've tried all the conventional methods.
And now I'm about to take this one step further - Today I'm throwing away carpet in my room. One of the reasons is that we are planning to do some work in my room, but mostly it's because of the fleas. What I want to know is whether or not they are capable of nesting in wooden areas. At this point there are three areas covered with cloth - two beds and an armchair, which too will be thrown out along with the carpet. What's left are said two beds and a couple of wooden wardrobes. The rest is concrete floor and walls. Tell me Reddit, are fleas capable of nesting inside of wooden wardrobes and laying eggs there or even on the concrete floor? I've sincerely no idea what else I can do at this point to get rid of the bastards, short of moving out of my house (which too is an option I'm considering until renovations have been completed).
Any recommendation on what else I can do is more than welcome.
