My current dog is a 2 and a half year old Shih-Tzu/ Poodle mix. He is a very well mannered and smart dog, however, he was not socialized as a pup which is our fault. We never knew the concept of there being a "socializing" window for pups so that they grow up used to being around other dogs. A few weeks ago we got a new puppy, another boy, breed unknown as it was given to us from a family friend. It was going great so far with the two dogs playing and stuff, but now my first dog seems jealous and sad. He doesn't come when called, doesn't eat often and he sometimes fights my other dog (nothing too serious). I understand that it has a lot to do with my first one not being socialized. Also, the fact that they're both male may have brought up some territorial issues. How do I go about this? How do I help my first dog be more nice to the puppy? I don't know what to do.
Not sure if it has anything to do with it, but my first dog is not neutered at all.
