Question about rinsing my dog

Hi everyone!

I'm a first time dog owner, and I'm absolutely loving it. My little corgi named nugget just turned 1, and I've had him since he was 3 months old. The question I have stems from my little vertically challenged boy always peeing on his front paws and all over his undercarriage.

For the first few months, I used doggie paw wipes, but I started to feel uncomfortable using it because he immediately start to lick his paws when we're done wiping. I don't want those chemicals in his mouth... even if the package says "chemical free" and all that other fun stuff.

I have googled "is it ok to rinse my dog with water" in just about every combination to get the results I need, and all I keep getting results for is "With a little bit of preparation and planning in advance, you can bathe your dog without getting him wet at all.", or I get results for how often I should be giving my dog a bath. This is not what I am looking for. I give him a full blown bath every other month or so.

I bought an extra long shower hose, and what I have been doing is just rinsing his paws and undercarriage off every time we come back in from a walk, then I dry him with his towel. His white paws are always drenched in yellow pee. Is this ok that I am doing this? I figured it would be no different than him being out in the rain on some farm herding sheep. I hope this isn't doing anything to dry out his skin, and if it is, I will stop and figure out a different method.

Thanks for any tips and suggestions.
