URGENT Cat Situation

So a bit of a backstory... My sister took in our family cat after she moved out because our parents said the rest of our family was moving to a tiny apartment. This around 7 years ago. Now my sister has a baby and works full time so she doesn’t want any extra responsibilities. I respect her decision but I feel so attached to our family cat who I visit every week. I can’t move from my parents home for another two years because I’m in university and can not afford the move. The plan was for me to take our cat after I graduated but apparently my sister is in a rush. And well... my parents refuse to let me take our cat back from my sister. I’m having anxiety attacks and insomnia due to this situation. I feel selfish to put this responsibility on my sister but also guilt for giving up our cat who’ve we raised since birth.

Can anyone give me any suggestions on what to do? Would it be possible to put up an ad that said something like “looking for a two year foster cat parent”? Would people really keep a cat for two years and then give them back to me?

TL;DR: I want to keep my 7 year old cat but due to financial and familial reasons would not be able to for another two years (which is when I move out and have my own place). Would it be possible to put up an ad that said something like “looking for a two year foster cat parent”? Would people really keep a cat for two years and then give them back to me?
