I’m not sure if this is the right sub for this but I need help. Our cat, who is almost 10, has a variety of medical issues. She has untreated diabetes, a bad foot absolutely caked in litter, rotting teeth, and recently she has been peeing herself outside of the litter box. This makes me incredibly sad, and I’ve done what I can (like attempting to clean her foot, but it’s painful so she doesn’t let me touch it much). I’ve tried bringing it up to my mom, but she gets extremely defensive and vehemently rejects the idea of going to a vet. She says she doesn’t want to deal with the staff getting mad at her for not giving our cat insulin for the diabetes. I’m just so sad seeing my cat in this state and not being able to do anything about it. I’m a student and have no time to work, so I can’t pay for a vet myself. Nor do I have any idea on how to go about getting her to a vet in the first place, with all the paperwork and whatnot. I have no clue what to do, any advice would be so much appreciated :(
