Can I feed a live mouse to my cats?

Hi r/Pets I just wanted to reach out because I’m in a but of a situation. A few months back My wife got two fancy mice from the same brood. One of them died after a couple of weeks due to a genetic defect. Now the partner mouse has a terrible life. She tries to push the top of her cage off to escape constantly and has shredded up her hut and toys. She a cutie, but after a quite a bit of handling and care it is clear that she has no emotional connection to my wife and me. We’ve considered releasing her into the wild but from what I’ve read they die shortly thereafter due to their domestication. We buried the first once with a respectful ceremony, which I thought was nice. At the time, we couldn’t have expect how much of an effect it would have on the survivor.

Now, we have three amazing cats who we love with all of our hearts. They are all a year apart in age with the older being three. They are the sweetest and very contented. Every since we’ve brought the mice home, they’ve wanted a pice of them. It’s fascinating to watch their eyes dilate when they react to their most natural prey. I think it would be a nice treat for them to give them a shot at the mouse. She just has no quality of life.

Now, I would want to go about this the best possible way. I want to minimize suffering as much as possible and don’t want to risk the cats getting hurt. At the end of the day, I want to honor the cycle of life and make sure I’m proving lovingkindness to my happy family. Does anyone have any experience with feeding live prey to cats? Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated.

TL;DR I have a spare mouse that is healthy but otherwise has no quality of life. Can I feed it to my 3 cats?
