So I have a 6 year old tabby that was saved as a stray when he was about 8 weeks old. Ever since I have had problems with him dragging food out of his bowl and eating it elsewhere. Sometimes 10-15 feet away from the food bowl. This leaves bits of food all over the house. I know this can be left over instincts from him being a stray but how do I get him to stop? I have tried giving him smaller amounts of food and at certain times, keeping him contained to certain rooms, and feeding him in a large tub. He is an only cat so there is no one to compete with.
