Hey guys,
I have battled my cat peeing everywhere for years now. I have tried everything to fix the problem, but he just will not use the liter box anymore. He is about 12 years old and I’ve had him checked for any medical problems and they always say that he is fine with no problems. He is a big grouchy cat and just sits around all day. He is indoor and outdoor. I have 4 clean liter boxes around the house for 2 cats. He had been peeing all over the carpet and I had to buy a carpet cleaner and was always soaking up as much as I could. Now, my wife had the carpet ripped up and vinyl Laminate was put down. I was hoping maybe he would quit peeing everywhere after the carpet was gone, but that’s not the case.... he just pees all over the floor. I have a 2 and 4 year old child and don’t want them rolling around in cat piss.
I am at my wits end with this cat that I have owned for 12 years and my wife wants me to get rid of him. I don’t want to get rid of my cat, but I am sick of having to constantly scope the house out to see if there is cat pee laying around. I also don’t want it to ruin my brand new floors.
He loves being outdoors, so I try to keep him outside as much as possible but my wife and 2 kids let him in all the time as they don’t really take note of his presence and he goes in or out whenever a door is opened. I work 12-16 hour days so I can’t monitor the situation all the time and basically have to come home and check the entire square footage of the house to see where he peed. It could be hidden in a closet or middle of the living room......
Any help would be appreciated as this has been a issue for far too long....
And yes, again. He has been checked for bladder infection twice and didn’t have one.
