My cat, male 15, has stopped eating dry food all together. Vet says one of his canines is an "angry tooth" but they will not operate to remove it since he might not wake up from anesthesia. Did full blood test...has some kidney issues due to his age, they are just old, NO thyroid problems, nothing else out of the ordinary.
We put him on an all wet food diet, about 2 cans of fancy feast a day (that's all he ate growing up, I know it's not the best). Also give him tuna, deli turkey, and shrimp. He's 8lbs 5oz right now, u can feel his spine and ribs when u pet him. He's eating but just not gaining weight but it's not like he refused to eat or doesn't want to. Always begs for chicken and table scraps which we give him
What are our other options? Can't they sedate him, novacaine the area and pull the tooth? It is breaking my mother's heart watching him slowly loose more and more weight.
What food do you recommend for gaining weight, I'll try to slowly introduce it to his diet
