My dog doesn’t want to hang out with me in my room anymore?

I have a shih-Pooh and I love him to death. He used to always follow me into my room and kind of lay next to me whenever I sit down at my computer. I don’t know what changes during the last few months, but he stopped following me into my room unless someone else like my mom also comes in. I think my relationship with him remain the same. I still give him the same amount of attention and love and I think he still likes me because he would run up to me every morning when I wake up with his tail wagging. I tried to bring him into my room occasionally because I like having his company and that he would be lonely all by himself downstairs, especially with my whole family at work. He stayed for at best 5 minutes before going toward the door and trying to claw at it with his paw, indicating that he wanted to leave. If I don’t open the door for him, he will start to bark. I did my best to keep him entertained in my room, but all he could pay attention to was my door. This is the part that confused me the most. When I opened the door for him, instead of walking away, he laid right in front of the door. He did this every time I opened the door for him to leave only to lay down right in front of my room. This had me wondering why he likes that spot so much instead of just hanging out with me in my room. He used to love going into my room and even sleep with me every night, but I don’t know what caused his sudden change in behavior :(
