I've been thinking about getting a bird once I move to a new place. I've been thinking about either budgies or parrotlets. Can parrotlets bond with both a human and a mate? Alternatively, can they live with finches or parakeets? I'm a student so often the bird would be alone for half a day or more when I'm not available. The cage size and toys shouldn't be a problem, I plan on building a cubic cage of 60 centimeters (2ft) for it, and stuff it with the necessary toys/branches etc.
