My mom has gone through two vets who both said our dog is overweight, and said that both are crazy. She says that because the dog's belly isn't protruding outwards that it can't be overweight and that the doctor is just confused because of his long fur. Everyday since the day we got him, she sits down next to him and feeds him food out of her hand. If the dog doesn't eat, she'll act like she's going to eat it and the dog feels forced to eat it or else lose that food so he eats entire bowls even when he's not hungry and now he also has food aggression.
Her last dog was extremely obese and died of cancer at half it's expected lifespan, but she swears it had nothing to do with his weight. She's done this same thing with me in the part where she's convinced I'm underweight and need to eat more, even telling me I needed to eat more when I was so sick I felt like throwing up.
Is there any way I can convince her to listen to our vet so our dog can be healthier?
