Hi, everyone. So, a few months back, my cat was diagnosed with a fungus called sporotrichosis, a zoonotic disease that infects open wounds and stops them from healing. It got better after 2 months, but then she got wounded again, and thus got sporotrichosis again. It'll take at least another 2 months for her to be completely free from sporotrichosis again.
So far, we've been keeping her inside at night and letting her roam during the day time (she is an outdoor cat), but now the vet is suggesting that we keep confine her at all times until she gets better so she doesn't get any more wounds, and doesn't get said wounds infected with sporotrichosis. I understand why, and I agree that we do have to keep her inside. I'm just a little worried that she'll go stir crazy because she's always been an outdoor cat. Now that we have to keep her inside 24/7, it's just such a huge change in her lifestyle that I don't know how it'll affect her.
We have a litter box in there, a scratching post, and a water bowl. We tried getting toys once, but she doesn't play with any of them.
I need advice. How do I make her stay more comfortable for the next few months until she's cured of sporotrichosis? How do I help her adjust to confinement?
