My current cat is almost 2 and I plan to adopt a 3-6 month old kitten. I'll be introducing them slowly with the kitten kept in a spare bedroom. It may take a while.
I'm wondering about small things, like which room to sleep in? Do I alternate? I feel like a kitten needs company and time with me to get adjusted. The idea of him alone in a room doesn't seem nice. But my current cat is very attention-seeking and sleeps with me. She will not like my shutting her out to be with the new cat, and I don't want her to feel bad. It's just me in the house so if I'm with one then the other will be alone.
If anyone has any tips or remembers how you split time during the transition I'd appreciate it. These things will probably work themselves out but I'd like to be as prepared as possible.
