I’ve had my cat for almost 6 years now and up until a few weeks ago, she was perfectly behaved. But lately, she’s taken to pooping on my floor. She’s still urinating in her litter box, but she’s pooping outside of it.
She’s shared this specific apartment with me for over a year and a half and this has only become an issue in the last month. The litter box hasn’t moved in that entire time. I’ve deep cleaned the box, cleaned the spot on the floor repeatedly, bought her new equipment to play on so she had more to do and even had my upstairs neighbor come down to play with her once a day. And the problem is only getting worse rather than better. This most recent time I cleaned her box, there wasn’t even any poop in. Just urine clumps.
I’m at my wits end here and I don’t know how to stop the behavior. Does anyone have any advice?
