My new dog makes me itchy but my old dog doesn’t?

Hey guys,

I have a rescue dog which I’ve had for 9 years who is a mixed breed and my sister recently purchased a pure breed puppy. Whenever I touch the new dog my skin gets itchy and I get red spots? How could the new dog affect me but the old one doesn’t?
