My previously "potty trained" cat just randomly peed in my bed - Why?

Hey

We've (3 people) have had our car for a bout 3~ months now (we got her when she was 12 weeks). She's not peed or pooped anywhere except her cat toilet since then, until today. Today my parents flew to England, leaving me alone with the cat. 12 hours later, she peed in my bed. Why? One of my friends told me, she might've done that because she was bored and craving for attention. Can this really be the reason?? She peed in my bed roughly 15-ish minutes after I got home, I had been gone for maybe 1-2 hours.... Her toilet was clean but I've filled it with more sand, just in case. She had food and fresh water. How do I prevent this from potentially happening again?

EDIT: Flipped the mattress. Turns out, she peed on it twice, even. I only noticed because the smell didn't go away at first, and the cat was scratching the bed like she wanted to cover it.
