One of my housemates owns a Saint Bernard (who's roughly 4 years old) and he puts her outside all day. He doesn't want her to come in unless it's raining, bad weather, nighttime or unless he says otherwise.
There's 3 of us in the house and we're mostly gone throughout the day hence why she's outside. On the days and in the evenings when her owner isn't home yet that one of us is around, she'll bark and cry at the door until she gets into the house. Any way to discourage this behaviour? Her owner makes sure that her food and water dish are filled and outside during when she has to be outside during the day.
