I recently adopted a cat who had been abandoned and neglected and took her in about two weeks after my cat of 14 years passed.
My previous cat and I had a special bond and relationship, as a lot of you have with your pets. She was my first pet and my best friend.
I keep comparing my new cat to my previous one and finding her not measuring up in the ways that made me love my previous cat so much. For example, my last cat was a big cuddly girl and my new one is a tiny little thing and is always running about.
I know I’ve not given her enough time and enough of a chance and I don’t want her to go back to a situation of no family and no love.
She’s a sweet girl and friendly. And obviously looking for love and a family.
I’m just conflicted and sad. Has anyone else experienced this and could give me advice?
