I’m a little worried and in need of some advice. I have 3 cats. I never experience any symptoms with them except the occasional sneeze. I work in an office and we decided to adopt a cat from this cat cafe nearby. When we first visited, we picked out this older cat and I pet her and hung out with her for a bit to get to know her. After a little while, I suddenly felt lightheaded and very warm and sweaty. My chest felt tight and it felt like there was a lump in my throat. Thankfully we were about to leave anyways so I got up and headed to the door with my coworkers to head to lunch. and didn’t think much of it.
Yesterday, my boss adopted her and brought her to the office. Throughout the day I pet her occasionally. Towards the end of the day, I got that same feeling of feeling very hot and tightness in my chest.
Is it possible to be really allergic to one cat while not allergic to others? Is this reaction something that will go away with time/allergy medicine? Is this reaction worrisome? Thanks in advance for any advice given!
