Why do people think its OK to say to me things like "you should have adopted instead of purchasing" or "there are hundreds of animals who need homes" etc.

I have a 16 year old Pomeranian with 1 eye that we rescued from an abusive man who was using him as a bait dog for his rottweiler. We have a 2 year old long haired chihuahua who was left in a pet carrier in the driveway of the empty house next door and he was near death however we saved him. About a year ago my sister and I saved 3 puppies that were thrown in a dumpster. I kept one, my sister kept one and my brother kept one. These puppies were toy long hair chihuahuas. I also have a cat we rescued during an ice storm from my husband's hunting club and he looks like a maine coon cat. Once we had these animals cared for by a veterinarian and have loved and cared for them they are healthy and happy. I wouldn't have known what kind of dogs they are if the vet hadn't of told me and have no clue if they are a mixed breed or not. We could care less either way.

The 2 younger dogs love to ride and go shopping and I am lucky enough to be able to take them to work with me. However, it never fails for someone to say something about "adoption over purchase" or something to that effect. The person doesn't say it to me directly but close by where I'm sure to hear it. I usually say nothing because I don't want to embarrass myself or say "fuck you mind your own business" in public. The best incident was at petsmart when we walked out to see a lady putting a note on my car.

Geez! How do handle these rude ass people? I live in a little city in Georgia where some folks think it's quite OK to just say whatever they want to you without no repercussions from the person they are giving their unwatched opinion to. I'm seriously thinking of printing out some cards to hand out that say "mind your own fucking business".

This crap is starting to stress me out but I am not going to punish myself or my pups because some people can't stay in their lane.
