Any advice about my sweet baby would be greatly appreciated!
Pixie was very sick over the weekend- not eating or drinking, drooling (ropey saliva). We've been to the vet and the only thing they were able to find is that she's slightly anemic, and she has mouth sores and a sore on the end of her tongue (from having it hanging out). She is on an antibiotic.
We have to administer fluids underneath her skin since she's not drinking. But for the life of us, we cannot get her to eat anything. Her mouth is probably too sore. We've tried soft foods like tuna, wet cat food slightly warmed up, we even tried syringe feeding her tonight some baby food.
She seems to have an appetite- she wants to eat, but she's just having a hard time. She drools more when she tries to eat, probably because the poor baby is hungry. If anyone has had to deal with this and has some good advice, I would appreciate it so much.
The doctor did give us an appetite stimulant, but we were hoping to not have to use it. It recently got approved by the FDA and made us kinda nervous the first time the vet made us use it. It did work to get her to eat, so if she's not eating, we will go back to using that.
