Recently, my 7 year old dog has been picking and eating stuff on the ground. We never had this problem before. Usually when he finds something on the ground he sniffs it and leaves it alone, but lately he eats absolutely ANYTHING. My dad witnessed him one night eating a piece of tissue without hesitating. We don’t think it’s because he’s hungry. He has done with before after eating his meal. This only started happened right after his bladder stone removal surgery and he had to be put on a low purine diet. He also loves his new food so I don’t understand where he got this behavior from. Does anyone know why my dog could be doing this and does anyone have a similar experience? What can i do to make him stop doing this?
