My partner and I “adopted” (foster to adopt until he’s officially neutered) a year old male orange tabby from the shelter yesterday. Since he is still legally owned by the shelter until he’s fully neutered, I don’t believe we can take him to a separate vet to neuter him, and the shelter doesn’t have their next surgery day until January 17th. He is a sweet boy, but very rambunctious, and because we have another cat at home (a 4 yo spayed female), he has been kept in our bathroom/bedroom for proper introduction purposes. Any advice on how to keep the little rascal safe and happy until he’s finally neutered and slowly allowed to integrate to the main part of the house?
I feel terrible that he has to stay cooped up, but with our female needing time to adjust to another cat in the apartment plus waiting for his surgery day, he’s better off staying in a separate area. TIA for any advice!
