Hi guys! I'm flying home with my cat on Sunday, and I'm nervous about it. Normally, I have a friend watch him while I'm out of town, because he's asthmatic and needs an inhaler every/every other day, which can be tricky. She's out of town currently, so I decided to take him with me.
I took him to the vet earlier this week, and we decided against a sedative because they can sometimes increase respiratory problems, especially at altitude. I've been taking him on car rides in his carrier to get him used to it, and it's been kind of hit or miss. Half the time he sleeps and everything is fine. The other half, he yells the whole time. The flight is only an hour and a half, but I don't want to torture everyone on it haha. Outside of sedatives, is there anything anyone recommends to keep him calm throughout? I'm planning on getting feliway, has anyone had any luck with that?
