About 2 months ago a coworker was evicted from the house he lived in, he was only renting a room and the person he was renting from hid the eviction notices from him. When this happened i let him stay at my house for a few days mainly because he had a cat. We agreed that the cat would stay with me while he figured out his life. Now it is 2 months later and I know he has been sleeping in a field the entire time and still doesnt have a job. After i had let him stay at my house he told me some things that really adjusted my opinion of him and I know hes not capable of taking care of this cat. Over the last 2 months me and my wife have fallen in love with this cat and we think it would be in her best interest to stay with us. I tried to start a conversation with the original owner of the cat and he became angry and told me I would not keep "his" cat. I was wondering if anyone could weigh in on how to protect the cat and myself from an individual who could become angry and violent.
