My 16 year old cat has taken to peeing right outside of his litter box. He still poops in the box, so I know it's not a problem with the litter or getting into the box.
I think it's a territorial thing, as he doesn't get along with my wife's cat. But we're baffled as to how to fix this. We have three litter boxes for two cats, although he only uses the one in the bathroom. I'll put him in the bathroom and close the door when I think he needs to go so he doesn't get attacked by the other cat and feels safe, but he'll still pee right outside the box.
Ideas?
