Cat with likely idiopathic chylothorax

Wondering if anyone else has experience with their cat having been diagnosed with idiopathic chylothorax, and pursuing the non-surgical medical management treatment (rutin and steroids)?

My 13yo kitty has been through a tough couple weeks, coughing and having trouble breathing and a rapid decline about two weeks ago, two thoracic taps, and seeing two specialists now, plus having a lot of fur shaved off during all the procedures. I stopped short of the final diagnostic (a CT scan) but the specialist says idiopathic chylothorax is the most likely (and treatable) possibility so we can proceed with the treatment (which won't hurt if it's not) and see what happens in a week-ish. (The main other possibility on the table is cancer that somehow wasn't detected during the ultrasound... or a mystery undiagnosable condition.)

Just wondering if anyone else has gone through this, how the treatment worked for you and your pet, etc.
