A few weeks ago my dog’s blood test came back and apparently she had a low red blood cell count (anemic, if I’m correct). So we got another test done a couple of weeks later and the results came back that the red blood cell count has increased and the white ones lowered. Im guessing this means that she had a cold or infection and she is improving?
My dog hasn’t really changed in behaviour. The thing that my family most noticed was that she wasn’t running around as much as usual, but other than that she acted the same (no change in appetite or anything). Is there another cause for anemia other than just a cold or infection? Ever since they started growing a couple of months ago my dog likes to eat unripe fruit hanging from the trees, and sometimes eats the seeds but I removed the problem. But I don’t think that unripe fruit would cause anemia. Does anyone have any idea of what caused her to be anemic? I just want to remove the problem if it was something that I was doing wrong.
