Hi all,
Questions about Advantage ii for cats/fleas. Cat is 12 weeks old.
Q: Should I quarentine after application, or let her free to collect and hopefully kill the fleas (since they prefer animals over people)? Is there a timeframe? Can I give a frequent flea bath or only once a month before application? (Don't want to ruin the medicine even if it says it's waterproof).
Q: If I'm consistent with the application will this prevent infestation even if it takes a few months to complete? Or am I doomed? I'm so scared of infestation; my house is big/old/with lot's of cracks and people who are not consistent for the kind of cleaning supposedly required. T.T
If quarentine option: should I contain her for extended time? Unfortunately, she's been all over the home for weeks. Help? Tried looking it up but couldn't find an answer. Anything I can burn or diffuse proven to at least discourage them from my area/room as preventative?? I'm super low income.
Background: My brother brought a kitten home a couple weeks ago (maybe 4) and did not quarentine or apply flea care (just Dawn bath). Didn't know she had fleas, or that it was a serious issue. Have since researched and am terrified of the future lol. Would comb her multiple times a day and get 10 or more every time. I'm absolutely paranoid fleas are just biding their time to take over. (Got stuck in an infested house once for a week, I mean absolute infestation, where they proceeded to crawl all over and bite me like little sanity suicide bombers. #nightmarefuel
