Giving a kitten away - will he be able to come back occasionally ?

So we have five kittens that are now 11 weeks old and we're going to give away three of them. An aunt is taking two next week, and my friend should be adopting one as her first pet this weekend. I have a few questions concerning compatibily with their lifestyle.

The aunt goes at her boyfriend one hour away every two weekends, and she wants to take the kittens. Is this okay? Both don't have pets currently. If she brings the litter box, will they be able to make the switch and locate where it is? They have never been in a car yet, are they still young enough to get used to it?

As for my friend, she goes to see relatives in different places in the country every two or three weekends, and she'd prefer not to take her cat as it's always a pretty long travel. She could always get me or someone to come check up on him, but I thought she could also drop him at our house whenever she leaves. He already knows the house, the people and the pets, and where the food and litter trays are. As I said we're keeping two kittens, and right now they're all super cuddly and playful together, so we thought it would be nice for him to have two days with his siblings and mom about twice a month and thus continue being socialised to other cats.

How will this go down? I read that cats may not recognize each other after only a little time and a change of scent, so will we have to reintroduce them every time? Does anyone have experience on leaving their kitten or cat at friends? Will he get used to it, like, develop a routine where he's excited each time he understands he's going to see us, with other kittens to play with, nice food to eat, big rooms to run through...?
