A week after I adopted my 5 y/o cat, he got all his teeth pulled out (the shelter already told us that he had dental issues and would likely know he would need some teeth pulled out, but they didn't expect it would be to that extent).
As a result, I now have to soak his dry kibble for about 15 minutes (his gums are still healing, I've been told to do this for a month). After a week or so, I tried an experiment and saved some of the soaking water. Well, turns out he is absolutely crazy about it! He drinks it so quickly that I am careful not to give him too much.
The silver lining in having a toothless cat :)
