I (19m) am very entertained in getting a kitten ( not a super young one) and wanting some thoughts.

I am a second year in college and have grown up with and love cats. My room isn't very big but will be getting a bigger room this summer in the same house. The problem is my parents don't think it's the smartest idea to get a cat because I'm in college in a house with college kids. I am in a co-op program so every other semester I am working full time so I would be leaving the house everyday for 9ish hours, it's also possible that I could be forced to move depending on if I get a second co-op out of state or something. Looking on others thoughts to make a decision. I've raised our cars all since they were kittens so I have lots of experience. Thanks.
