We have 2 cats, and we were gone last weekend. We just moved in about 3 weeks prior, but they had been normal so we just put extra food down and left. When we got home Sunday night, the younger cat had a snotty nose and a bad cough, while the older cat was in the box spring with a sneeze. They both seemed really stressed out for some reason. The older one had a bald spot on her belly where it looked like she licked her fur off.
We took the younger cat to the vet Monday because his sneezing had developed into bad coughing fits all night. He was diagnosed with a URI and got some antibiotics. The older cat had basically not moved from our bed, wasn’t eating or drinking, and wasn’t coming to see us in the living room which she always did, so I took her to the vet Tuesday. The vet said she probably had a panic attack, got stuck in the box spring and gave herself a fever. She also had a blocked up bowel, so she was prescribed antibiotics as well.
Every time we give them to her she foams up because they taste so bad. Well she’s still sneezy and sounds snotty and she’s still pretty lethargic. She seems to be eating and isn’t having any accidents so she’s using the litter box as well. I’m just worried because she hasn’t really shown much improvement. Does she just have a cold and she’s just feeling bleh?
The vet said other than the constipation the X-ray was clean as well.
