Ok so we adopted our cat 2 days ago, we have had cats before so we put him in our bedroom with all of his things so he would feel more comfortable. After the first night I accidentally left the door open (so dumb I know) and he disappeared. We looked for him, and I heard him meow.
We love in an old house and there is a hole that opens into the tub plumbing in our hallway, and also the interior tub. I had even bought a board and some nails to cover it but hadn't gotten around to it (again so dumb). By using my phone to take a video with flash I found him.
He is NOT stuck. The space is small but its exactly the sort of place that a scared kitty wants to hide. I check on him frequently and he is always in a different position around the tub so I know he can move around.
But I am worried because I don't know if he is coming out for water while we are sleeping. I moved his food and water bowl in front of the hole, even put some stinky wet food out to try to lure him but since he found that hole I don't think he has come out. He definitely has not eaten or eliminated, I don't think he has had any water either. And it has been 30 hours now.
Am I gonna have to open the wall? Or will he eventually come out for water and food?
