My dog is a Lab mix and has been having issues recently. He lost his appetite and I took him to the vet. The vet said he has mild kidney failure and we got him new food. For the next couple days, he actually seemed excited to eat the new food but then stopped eating altogether. He smells reeeaaaaally bad and I think it’s his breath. It was off and in with eating for a couple weeks and then he just wouldn’t anymore. My dad is a vet and he always made a bland food diet for dogs who wouldn’t eat. We did this, and he eats a little about once every day. He also wasn’t drinking so I gave him gatorade and that seemed to help. He’s on anti inflammatory pills, Antibiotic (he has a weird tumor looking thing on the side of his face they think is an infection), and anti nausea. He really does not like one of his pills and when I tried to give it to him it got stuck in his throat and he jerked around for a little bit before getting it down. I was scared. He has way less energy and his eyes sometimes get droopy. He also sometimes breathes through his mouth or sounds congested when he breathes through his nose. Do you guys have any tips? Other ideas on what might be going on? (Btw he’s 14 years old)
