We’ve always had a lot of pets around the house while growing up and I’ve had a few cats and birds but I’m finally looking at getting my own dog. I’m 22 and hike a lot and love to go on drives and explore Vancouver island. I’m looking at getting a German shepherd, but not sure if I should be looking at a puppy or teenage dog or even adult. I love puppy’s and think they are adorable but I know they can be tough while potty training and kennel training etc. My daughter and girlfriend are also getting a German shepherd mix puppy, but this pup would be mine. I’ve also looked at getting a 5-7 month old which have been trained etc but you lose the puppy factor and the bonding at the beginning. I’ve also seen a few older pups like a year or two old that have been trained and have come from good homes. If anyone has had any experience I’m very interested to hear your take on it and if you have any advice! Thank you!
